CyCon 2019 took place in Tallinn on 28-31 May. The main theme of 2019’s conference, Silent Battle, brought together nearly 100 speakers from industry, academia, national administrations and NATO. As a flagship event of the NATO Cooperative Cyber Defence Centre of Excellence (CCDCOE), CyCon is the leading cyber defence conference in the region, widely credited with providing a 360-degree look on cyber, from political, military, industry and academic leaders and experts.
Highlights included opening keynotes from the Estonian President Ms Kersti Kaljulaid, NATO’s Deputy Supreme Commander Transformation Admiral Manfred Nielson, 18 expert sessions deep-diving into topics like machine learning or national cyber security strategies and events on Demystifying Blockchain and the Paris Call Rountable. The Call for Papers for the event, opened in June 2018, resulted in 111 submitted abstracts. After careful selection and peer review by the Academic Review Committee, 29 articles were selected for publication.
