From 15 – 17 September the NATO Communications and Information Agency (NCI Agency) will hold their annual cyber security symposium, NIAS2015: Advancing Cyber Defence Collaboration and Innovation, a view from within, in Mons, Belgium.
The purpose of NIAS
NIAS is a long-running event that fosters relationships and collaboration between NATO, its Allies, and industry and academia in the realm of cyber defence.
During NIAS2015, conference attendees will have the opportunity to hear about new and existing products, services and solutions as companies take to the stage to demonstrate the capabilities of their information security solutions, and listen to NATO representatives explain their vision on how industry and NATO can work together to strengthen NATO’s networks.
Attendees can also participate in interactive workshops where industry and NATO debate security challenges, innovative ideas and share experience.
The NATO Industry Cyber Partnership (NICP) and NIAS
At the 2014 Summit in Wales, NATO Heads of State and Government endorsed the establishment of a NATO Industry Cyber Partnership. Just a couple weeks later at NIAS2014, NATO launched the NICP in the presence of NATO and industry representatives with the purpose of enhancing an open, transparent and mutually beneficial relationship to support NATO’s principal mandate in cyber defence – the protection of its own networks.
This year the NICP will once again be featured at NIAS. There will be a high-level round-table discussion where representatives from each NATO Nation are invited to discuss their Nation’s main cyber defence priorities and how industry can engage to solve these issues. There will also be several opportunities for NATO and industry to engage with NATO.
NIAS2015 is open for members of NATO Headquarters, NATO Agencies, NATO Nations and Partnership for Peace countries. Registration for these members is “free of charge”. When registering, please only use your official email address.
Industry companies who are not presenting at the conference, but sending staff members to NIAS2015 are required to purchase a conference pass. You can sign-up by contacting the exhibitor secretariat via this link.
NIAS2015 is the NCI Agency’s premier cyber security symposium, addressing today’s strategic and technical issues in an unrivalled program and showcasing the most diverse range of new and innovative products and services.
